]]> Dr Sibongiseni Elliot Sithole has been elected as new bishop of the Lutheran Church of Southern Africa at its Synodical Convention in December 2024. His installation is planned for 23 February 2025 in Salem. Dr Sithole has been serving as part-time lecturer at LTS for many years, and joined the seminary faculty full-time in January 2024. He will continue teaching at LTS where he leads the Old Testament studies. We wish him God’s richest blessings for his new role as bishop!

Bishop Reinstorf (FELSISA) installing the new lecturers, assisted by Bishop Maragelo (LCSA) and Rector Winterle (LTS).

Yesterday, on the Sunday Septuagesimae, Rev. John Nkambule and Dr. Heinz Hiestermann were installed as full-time lecturers at LTS. The sermon on the labourers in the vineyard (Mt 20:1-16) highlighted how the master of the house went out again and again to find labourers to come and work in his vineyard. This is one of the reasons LTS exists: To train and equip pastors to go out and call people into God’s vineyard, his kingdom.

Rev. Nkambule (LCSA) is pursuing a Ph.D degree in Missiology at the Concordia Theological Seminary Fort Wayne, Indiana. Dr. Hiestermann (FELSISA) completed his Ph.D in New Testament studies at the University of Pretoria in 2016.
