Start of 2025 Academic Year

On Monday February 3rd, LTS started the 2025 academic year with an orientation day. The year’s first classes were held yesterday, and today a service of Confession and Absolution was celebrated, where registrar Rev. Hanfato preached. While we still are awaiting the arrival of a couple of international students, most students are back in class. May God bless the start of the new academic year!

End of Semester Braai

Due to increasing Covid-19 infections, the end of semester exams at LTS have been moved up by a week. To celebrate the end of the semester, a hamburger braai (barbeque) was held on Monday, May 24. The exams started today. We wish the students many blessings for the exam!

Extra Afternoon Classes

At LTS we are quickly approaching the end of the first academic quarter of 2021. The Easter break starts on 25 March. This time of the year semester tests are written and many assignments have to submitted. To help students prepare for the tests and teach them how to successfully complete assignments, some extra afternoon classes were held. Dr. Hiestermann introduced students to various study methods they could use in preparing for tests. Rev. Nkambule (photo) gave students tips on how to complete tests and assignments. Next week Rev. Mntambo will also work with the students on tests and assignments. We thank God for his blessings during the first quarter and pray that he will continue to guide the work of staff and students.

Start of the 2021 Academic year

On this cold and rainy summer’s day in Pretoria, the Lutheran Theological Seminary has started the 2021 academic year. We’ve welcomed thirteen students, while waiting for three more. The students are from South Africa (8), Ethiopia (4), and the DRC (1). This semester, they will learn the following subjects: 1. Fundamental academic skills, 2. New Testament Greek, 3. Old Testament Survey, 4. New Testament Survey, and 5. Christian Worship. During Matins, Rector Dr. Hiestermann reached on 1Cor.8:1-13, Rev. John Nkambule, the Registrar, led the morning devotion.

Please pray that God will bless students, staff and supporters of the LTS during the new academic year.
