]]> Another very productive meeting was held between LTS representatives and the dean of the Faculty of Theology and Religion at the University of Pretoria, Dr. Jerry Pillay. Dean Pillay is the successor to former Dean Buitendag. The University of Pretoria is very gracious toward the LTS, and the LTS seeks closer ties to UP. Prof. em. Dr. Werner Klän’s appointment as extraordinary professor at UP is being extended for another three year term, which makes it possible for Lutheran post-graduate students to enroll in UP and to study under the tutelage of Dr. Klän in cooperation with UP faculty. This is a wonderful opportunity for educating Lutheran scholars from Africa and around the globe. Additional avenues of cooperation are also being explored between the LTS and the UP, and we pray that these efforts will be fruitful.

Meeting with the UP faculty of theology

On January 26, 2018, Drs. Winterle and Böhmer travelled to the nearby University of Pretoria to meet with representatives of the Faculty of Theology to discuss possible avenues for cooperation between the two institutions.
