Our beautiful country has been in turmoil for a few days now. But we will not stop preparing pastors to bring the good news of Jesus Christ into a world that so desperately needs it. Read below a short report by LTS registrar John Nkambule:
“Our former President Jacob Zuma has been in and out of courts facing many charges. At one moment he was given a chance to present himself in front a State Capture Commission of Inquiry. He kept on going there until he did not want to go there anymore. He did not trust the judge who is leading that commission anymore. He thought that the judge was biased. At the end of the day, the Constitutional court found him guilty of undermining the State Capture Commission of Inquiry and he was sentenced fifteen months in prison for that. He was given five days to hand himself over to the correctional service. He eventually got into prison.
After the arrest, many of his followers were not happy and there is unrest in the country especially KwaZulu Natal and Gauteng Provinces. Shops are looted and damaged. Properties are destroyed and people are hurt. The followers of the former president want him to be released from prison and the government is still keeping him there. We don’t know what will happen at the end of the day. The Pretoria area is not affected that much, only the surrounding areas. Through the help of God the seminary is not damaged. Please pray for peace and stability in South Africa. Thank you.”
